Basic gameplay[]
The gameplay of Splitgate revolves around using portals to out-maneuver your enemies, access favorable positions, and retain control of certain objectives. Portals can be placed on any blue-checkered surface, and you can place two portals at a time. You can shoot through any portal, but can only see through your own. An enemy portal will blink when someone is standing near it, so be mindful of someone looking in on you. You can also EMP grenade enemy portals to make them disappear.

Kills[]
A kill is awarded when a player shoots an enemy player until their health runs out. Getting the final shot gives credit for the kill even if a teammate weakened the enemy first. If a teammate gets the final kill on an enemy that you injured an assist is a awarded. Many game modes count assist kills as kills, but don't count them for points. Kills are also awarded when an enemy falls off the edge of the map after being shot by you, or when the fall off of the edge of the map after traveling through your portal. There are many kinds of kills to be aware of. See the medals page for even more types of kills and awards.

- Kill Through Portal - Awarded when you kill an enemy by shooting through a portal. The portal can be yours, an ally, or an enemy's.
